South East Region Concours held at the KM Motoring Pageant Weekend
July 5/6th 2003. The Hop Farm Country Park Paddock Wood, Kent.
2003 Concours

We joined in with the Transtar Promotions event. This two-day event is one of the largest events held in the South East, with its pageant of motoring history. In 2003 their were over 40 Club Stands at the show. Other attractions that were offer on the weekend included two arena's. One near the new car dealerships displays held the stunt shows etc. The other arena was near the club displays and clubs could bring thier cars into the area and talk about thier pride and joy's. With Special Displays, Commercial and New car concessions, Children's Funfair, Autojumble and Trade Stands. Dogs on leads were welcome and also on site catering thoughout the show. That is without the added attractions of The Hop Farm itself, Military Vehicle Display, Horse Drawn Vehicle Display, The Shire Horses, The Animal Farm and Pets Corner, Water Junction where you spot the fish from the submarine, walk through a rainforest. The Hop Farm Museum and for the inner self the Roundels Country Kitchen with home made meals or snacks. These were just some of the entertainment to be held over the weekend that made this a great weekend out.
The South East region concours this year was a great success held at the KM Motoring Pageant. The Hop Farm Country Park, Beltring, Paddock Wood, Kent. TN12 6PY.

We had a fine display of BMWs on Saturday, and on Sunday for the concours we had over 40 cars. Total over the weekend was 52 BMW cars . There were 3 Z1's, 3 M6's, 2 02's, Z3, 7 series, 5 series , aray of 3 series, E21 and even a BMW Mini in our display. At this point I must thank the judges : Barry Gordge, Rob Parkin, Glen Wells and Selwyn Frostick for their hard work on the day.

We must also thank BCE Highways for the sponsorship of the very attractive Steering Wheel design trophies. They also along with BMW Dealerships, Vines of Redhill and Broad Oak, Canterbury and Nigel Marston donated raffle prizes. Thanks also go to Pauline Wells who did a great job in trying to give away the raffle prizies, as it seemed members were being generous and asking for another number to be picked if they had already won a prize. Sadly there were not Polar Bears this year, just BMW models, Williams F1 gear and other car related items. Even though the pack of 4 car sponges did look like a packet of toilet rolls !
