South East Region "Roadie's take a rest"
The first cast iron bridge

After the South East Roadies had set up the display area on the Friday, Saturday was spent visiting the nearby " World Heritage Site", this being the Ironbridge Gorge.
Spectacular and beautiful, Ironbridge Gorge offers a unique chance to step back in time to an age when the pounding of steam hammers and the clatter of horse hooves was commonplace. Its series of 10 museums, spread along the banks of the River Severn, pay tribute to what happened in this valley two hundred and fifty years ago, as this area played a major role in the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
Our group spent the morning in the Blists Hill Victorian Town museum. Where we joined the "Victorian"< /span> townsfolk as they go about their daily lives in this recreation of a small community at the end of Queen Victoria's reign. Visitors after exchanging their money into token Victorian coins in the bank, could buy a pint in the local Public house or buy sweets, cup of tea in the shops.
On the Sunday "Concours day", the South East Region Road-Show along with other South East Region club members attended the first Central Regions Concours to be held in the region for many a year. Central Region BMWCC (GB) Club member Peter Dickins took on the challenge of organising the event.
After having attended the Weston Park show in 2003, the South East Region were invited to come along and help Peter out with the judging on the day, which we were pleased to do. South East Committee member Rob Parkin had drove up Saturday night to join us at a evening meal, and with the cost being only £10 per head for a 3 course meal, it was worth coming up the night before. Sunday morning John Safe turned up with Z register banner and Z3 flag, "with the large size of the Z Register banner, it must be making up for something" .
Even though there was a small turn out of cars for the concours, which this year is being run under new BMWCC rules. One of the main changes being, that the Classes are now in Years and not BMW Models, the cars that did enter were a very high standard. Hopefully next year's Central Region concours will be better attended at this event, as it is hoped to be an on going Central Region Concouse venue

Howard's 6 series
Tony Calvert (South East Region committee member) organised a Z Register Show and Shine on the day. This was well attended by a variety of different models and colours, and the feed back Tony has had from Z members who attended on the day was very favourable, and with nearly every one of the Z members winning a prize, it made their day.

The concours BMW cars presented were of a very high standard and many club members just turned up and enjoyed the shows and auto jumble and trade stands that were at this large event.

Peter Dickins made the present ions to Concours winners of their trophies.
Peter was given a welcome round of applause, for the hard work and as he would say" I won't beat about the bush" making the event a success.

Easter Monday BMW Car Club display was again enlarged by the attendance of South East Region club members. Mark Poulton had come up from West Drayton with BMW compact, and camped over the weekend. He found the first night a bit cold, but after joining us, with 11 other club members at the Sunday evening meal, he slept O.K, the hot food was welcomed. Gabriel Samaroo drove up from Brighton in his 5 series and John Payne with is partner also drove up in his M3 GT. So I pleased to report that the South East Region club members were well represented at this event.
