BMW Club Europa - 43rd Meeting - Luxembourg
25th - 27th August 2005 - Page 1 of 5: Luxembourg City
Once again we support BMW Club Europa by not only taking part in the 43rd BMW Club Europa Meeting held in 2005 with the venue being Luxembourg.
Four members of the South East Region also were judges for the international concours which was held in the Place Guillaume (main sq) in Luxembourg city.
Wednesday 24th August- We set sail on the 7am Sea France ferry and soon arrive in Calais where we set the Sat-Nav for our Hotel Parc Belle-Vue, which was not only our resting place but also the headquarters of the event. After meeting up with Barry and Ann in their BMW Z1 on route (as they took the tunnel) we arrive and as the voice on the Sat-Nav says "you have arrived and you destination is on your right", which was spot on.
We check in and then meet up in the bar, for the first drink of the Holiday. There we meet up with Kathleen Butler and Ron Sharrad from BMW Club Linz? They are in charge of the concours and we get not only our final instructions, we also meet up with Joss who is from one of the organising clubs BMW Moto Club Luxembourg. The other club being the BMW Auto Club Luxembourg. After buying him a drink and talking to him about the event, he goes off and returns with not only our Judges badges but also some event staff polo shirts, which were most welcome and will be worn buy not only when we judge, but also at our first pub meeting back in England.

After the concours was over we took the advice that was in our meeting booklet and took a trip on the Petrusse express. This mini-train took us on a tour from the Place de la Constitution through the lovely Petrusse valley on most small roads away from the traffic rush and also went under the bridges of Luxembourg as we went on our way. The tour took around 50 minutes and was well worth the 8 euros per person.
Thursday 25th August- In the morning we have time to have a walk around the City of Luxembourg before the Concours, which judging started at 2pm. Unfortunately it rained, but we did see some of the history of the city.
