2007 Enfield Pageant
The 30th Enfield Pageant of Motoring organised by the Enfield and District Veteran Vehicle Trust (EDVVT) held over the May Bank Holiday weekend (26/27/28th) was for the second consecutive year affected by the weather. On the Saturday, it seems that most visitors to the event had believed the weather forecast and visited on this dry day. Well the weather did take a turn for the worst and the wind and showers arrived around 5.30pm on Saturday and did not let up. Therefore, Sunday car club displays were those set up on the previous days. The parade arena displays and shows from “The Tigers Motorcycle Display” cancelled, due to the conditions. The weather worsened by the afternoon, so most of the auto-jumble and trade stalls packed up and left. We decided to stay over night and leave first thing Monday if the weather did not brighten up. The winds picked up over night and some of the gazebos were flying around the site. Therefore, with the help of the plastic roadway we managed to get our SE caravan off site by around 10am on the Monday, with the rain still falling.
The display theme this year was (EDVVT), so the vehicles in the main tent were from members of the Enfield and District Veteran Vehicle Trust. As you can see in the slideshow, some very impressive vehicles were on display.
