2008 Concours winners

Another new venue for the South East Region members to visit in 08, as the regions Concours De 'Elegance was held at the Classic and Transport show, Boughton Monchelsea Place, nr Maidstone, Kent.
The weather on set up Saturday was HOT, HOT, HOT, but the forecast was for showers on the Sunday. Thanks go to region members David and Marie who helped Selwyn, Pauline and I erect our display items for the show.
On Saturday I took the opportunity to take a few photographs of our cars at Monchelsea Place, before we started setting up the display area.

The South East Region Display area was the largest at the show, and we even had enough room, which is very usual. This was the last event that we will have our caravan attending, due to being consigned to the scrap heap on the following Monday.

We awoke Sunday morning with the sun shining and the view to the coastline over the deer park was clear. First to arrive was Loinial Smith and his wife soon followed by Gordon Hyam. By 11am, our regions judges, Barry Gordge, David Brentall, Selwyn Frostick and Tony Calvert were ready to start. The promised rain held off until around lunchtime and by this time the judging was nearly finished. Late arrival and last car to be judged was Allan Blowers 2002, which was completed between showers. Due to the weather worsening the raffle and prize giving was held soon after. The show orgainisers also gave out the show plaques early, so at around 3pm it was time to pack up and leave.
