2009 FIA Formula One World Championship
2009 FIA World Touring Car Championship
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has announced the provisional race
calendar for the 2009 World Touring Car Championship. The season consists of twelve
races and, like this year, starts in Curitiba. New to the coming season's race calendar
is Marrakech. The Moroccan city will stage races five and six of the 2009 FIA WTCC
on 3rd May. However, this date remains provisional: the Marrakech circuit must still
be inspected and accepted by the FIA.
The 2009 World Touring Car Championship will
once again call in Porto, returning to the Duro River after a year's break. Estoril
hosted the two races in 2008. As in recent years, the season finale will take place
in Macau.
