Item 1. Introduction:
With the music turned down, Melvyn Pettit opened the meeting by first thanking the members present for attending the least active event on the South East Region event calendar. Also explained that you should have a Agenda with the 2006 South East Region events calendar on the reverse side, and copy's of the 2005 AGM minutes and Treasures report.
Item 2. Apologises:
Robert Parkin
Peter Armstrong
Item 3. Minutes of Last AGM:
The minutes of the last AGM were distributed. Proposed by Tony Calvert and seconded by Selwyn Frostick
Item 4. Chairman's report:
Melvyn reported that 2005 was again an excellent year for South East Region as club members who wished to take part in events in our region had many opportunities to bring their pride and joy out to every type of event.
Melvyn then thanked all the other members on the committee whose support and hard work, kept the region moving forward. Selwyn for not only the upkeep on the caravan, but for also picking up Pauline and bringing her to events. Tony for the car Run and Proof reading all my endless writings!
Extended thanks go to those BMWCC members, national, regional members and invited guests, who attended our events during the year and it is hoped to have their continued support in 2006.
Events of interest and of note during 2005, which the region organised and supported, were:
In March
BMW Chandlers, Hailsham invitation to the Launch of the New BMW 3 series.
Thanks to Dave Brentnall and Dave Reidy, (unfortunately David Reidy has now let Chandlers, Hailsham)
Help out Richard "02" on stand at Classic Cars Live at the Ally Pally
(Selwyn and I attended)
In May a busy month:
The Roman and Canute Tour organised by Tony Calvert.
Hopefully with a bit more promotion, more club members will attend this years run, as this type of event takes a lot of time and effort to organise.
World Touring Car Championship at Silverstone
BMW Power Weekend at Rockingham.
Enfield Pageant of Motoring
In June
The Classic car run in aid of Hospice in the Weald (The Jubilee Run)
In July
Our main regions event of the year, SE Concours at the Hop Farm.
Our thanks to Dave Reidy and Graham Hyams for the Model Art Cars for the raffle prizes.
Peter Armstrong (Hartlake) for the New Trophy in memory of Glen Wells.
And of course all the rest of the committee for judging and running the Raffle etc.
So this was once again an excellent event.
02 Oktoberfest at Brooklands:
I think Tony and I made entry to this event run at lot smoother, as Richard seemed to have too much on his plate on the day!
Our Spa 24 hr trip at the end of July and into August
Our thanks to Ann and Neil, for once again making this a great holiday.
In August also
National BMWCC Festival at Gaydon.
I informed Jeff early in the year that the SER will excuse ourselves from Concours Judging this year, as the following weekend, we were on Judging duty in Luxembourg. From a report from a National committee member this did not go down well.
Barry and I volunteered to do the main Parking Duty.
The proverb “piss up in brewery came to mind”.
Selwyn, Tony, Sarah ran the regions stand.
Our thoughts were with Pauline as this was the weekend that she should have gone into hospital to have her ankle finally fixed!
Club Europa meeting Luxembourg
Thanks to Kathleen, Ron and Joss for not only the Polo tops, but for making this event one of the best run BCE meetings and where we were made to feel most welcome.
In September
IMI Show at Hertford (a great new event for this year)
In December Christmas Lunch with thanks to Father "Selwyn” Christmas
If you add in the Monthly Pub meetings, this was once again another active and successful year for the SE Region.
Item 5. Treasurers report: by Selwyn Frostick
Selwyn reported : As from last year we now have no region financial statement balance sheet , just a float of £90.
The region only claimed £70 from the club central funds (Petrol for Selwyn, for towing the caravan to the National event at Gaydon).
The donations from club members at the Raffle covered our costs of Trophies, Tea, Coffee, Genterator fuel, etc.
So with the float now at £90 our total costs in 2005 was £80.
Proposed by Bary Gordge and seconded by Melvyn Pettit
Item 6. Events Report for 2006 by Melvyn Pettit
Future event programme: for the region in 2006
Due to the WTCC breaking away from the GT race series, so not being at SPA 24hr. We are not going to SPA-Francorchamps 24hr this year, but we hope to visit Ann and Neil on the way back from the BCE meeting France.
Unfortunately this year we with have two events that clash with existing events.
This is just one of the problems of having a full event calendar.
March 18/19th Classic Car Show Alexandra Palace – 02 Stand
April 19th - Brands Hatch Track evening with Kent RS owners club
May 13th - National AGM - National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham - Collect our pins!
Must remember to take Concours forms and Goodwood Run adverts to this meeting to give out.
May 20/21st - World Touring Car Championship - Brands Hatch - Club display. Richard Stern is arranging this, I have been in contact with him so we are not left out of loop. Jeff is arranging the 2 for 1 ticket offer.
May 27th/28th/29th - Club stand at the 29th Enfield Pageant of Motoring. (Form sent off) awaiting tickets
June 8th to 11th BCE meeting Vosges 2006 in France (Need to know programme so we can book ferry etc).
June 11th - Classic car run- In aid of the Hospice in the Weald (clash with BCE meeting)
July 1st/ 2nd - Club Display and South East Region Concours. Hop Farm. An advert has been in club magazine (updated one in next issue), advert is on club web site and is on SE web site. Selwyn and I have entry forms. Need to order trophy labels etc.
We are planning to have a BBQ on the Saturday night. Also Selwyn is trying to arrange our own stand Toilet, and our stand site will hopefully be moved so we can have a larger layout. Selwyn is in contact with Transtar to arrange this. The Convertible register is coming to the event.
July 2nd - IMI show at Hertford (clash with Concours)
August 6th - Goodwood to Bat and Ball run (Tony is planning this event)
With interest in this event out growing the Bat and Ball Pub, a new Pub is being sorced, still near Farnham area
Tony suggested the Name of the Event is Now THE GOODWOOD RUN
Need to do advert for club’s web site and magazine to promote event.
Sunday 20th - BMWCC National Festival – Gaydon
Add in our Monthly Pub meetings, it will again be a busy year in 2006

I have also updated the information on the South East Region page on the main clubs web site to include information on SE Newsletter, Concours, WTCC adverts and I will make up advert For THE GOODWOOD RUN and add to SER page.
Item 8. Election and re-election of Committee members:
Rob Parkin, due to business and the emanate arrival of 2nd child will not be standing for re-election to committee.
Barry, David, Melvyn, Pauline, Selwyn, Sarah and Tony stood down and put themselves up for re-election
Melvyn Pettit was re- elected Chairman and Secretary : proposed by Barry Gordge and Seconded by David Brentnall
Selwyn Frostick was re-elected Treasurer: proposed by Melvyn Pettit and seconded by Tony Calvert
Tony Calvert was re-elected Z Register Liaison : proposed by Melvyn Pettit and seconded by Barry Gordge
Barry Gordge re-elected as a committee member: proposed by Melvyn Pettit and seconded by Tony Calvert
Dave Brentnall was re-elected as a committee member: proposed by Melvyn Pettit and seconded by Selwyn Frostick
Pauline Wells was re-elected as a committee member: proposed by Sarah Rootes and seconded by Tony Calvert
Sarah Rootes was re-elected as a committee member: proposed by Melvyn Pettit and seconded by Selwyn Frostick
Selwyn reported that Peter Armstrong would like to join the committee
Barry reported that when he was Chairman, that due to the problem he had with a committee member who had a BMW related business their was a conflict with him about him using his BMWCC SE committee membership to promote his business.
Hopefully at the next pub meeting this would be explained to Peter, and if all committee members are in attendance this could be sorted out satisfactory.
Item 9. Any Other Business:
1. Club magazine - SE contact telephone number
Due to Rob standing down we need a new Telephone contact number in the Club magazine. Selwyn said he would now be the contact number.
2. Ron expressed on behalf of Kathleen and himself, many thanks to the committee for their enthusiasm and making them welcome at events and the work they do for the region.
Ron also thanked us for being Judges at BCE meeting in Luxembourg in 2005.
As the meeting with BCE and BMWCC have been left with the BMWCC club leaving BCE in two years time unless an agreement can be forth coming, and under the new arrangements BMWCC members now have to purchase BCE club cards, Ron said he would arrange for BCE judges to receive them free of charge.
3. Barry requested that Melvyn write an e-mail to the Club National Chairman Jeff Heywood on his be-half
With the subject being related to the collection of his BMWCC Pin awarded to him in 2005. He was told by Jeff that as he would be at Silverstone on the day of the National AGM, he would bring them to Silverstone the following day. But told Barry he left them behind when he spoke to him at Silverstone. So would be presented to him at Gaydon, or posted it to him. Unfortunately once again the Pins were not at Gaydon. Barry feels this put the club in an un-professional light. Melvyn agreed to do this on his be-half.
4. Selwyn reported that he has come in to the possession of a new caravan and this one is only 12 years old has a lot of modern amenities, such as Toilet, Shower, Fridge, Oven, Etc.
So once again a Blue and White paint job is needed, and Easter weekend would be ideal time to do it.
He reported that Roast Beef Dinners would be on the menu at events!
There was no other business.
Item 10.:
