2007 SE AGM MINUTES
Members Present:
Melvyn Pettit - Chairman / Secretary
Selwyn Frostick - Treasurer
Tony Calvert - Z Register Liaison Officer
David Brentnall - Committee member
Pauline Wells - Committee member
Club members present: Russ Wollad + Doritte
Guest: Sarah Wells
Item 1. Introduction:
Melvyn Pettit opened the meeting by first thanking the members present for attending the least active event on the South East Region event calendar. Also explained that you should have a Agenda with the 2007 South East Region events calendar on the reverse side, and copy's of the 2006 AGM minutes and Treasures report.
Melvyn also thanked the Kings Arms landlord Andy for the use of the room for holding the AGM.
Item 2. Apologises:
Barry and Ann Gordge (Birthday treat in New York)
Item 3. Minutes of Last AGM:
Proposed by: David Brentnall and seconded by Selwyn Frostick
Item 4. Chairman's report:
I have once again thank the SE committee members for making the South East Region tick for another year. Special mention go to Tony Calvert for the two cars runs he organised, the August Goodwood run and the September Tulip rally. These type of event take a great deal of time to organise so thanks Tony.
Selwyn Frostick for again collecting and bringing Pauline and Sarah Wells to events. Also the Pub Meal meetings and Christmas lunch he arranged, and of course the up keep of caravan.
At 28th Feburary 2007 the region has 859 paid up club members
And for the 2006 event reports:
Unfortunately the years events started on a bad footing, as the weather worked against us for the first two outside events. WIND and Rain at Brands Hatch WTCC meeting, at least we did get to Nigel Mansell demonstrate the Nurburgring 24hr winning BMW M3 GTR, and the cancellation of the Enfield Pageant in May due to a water logged field. At least the Clubs National AGM at National Motorcycle Museum where we collected our club bronze pins was in the dry!
June - BCE meeting Vosges 2006 in France - once again our trip abroad had its excitement, just take a look at the video of Selwyn’s 02 on the parade lap! That only shows a little of the Tii antics on the trip. Thanks to Kathleen and Ron for making our groups payment easily for the event. Another great adventure to a European Country for a BCE meeting. Tony and I visited the SCHLUMPF COLLECTION - Mulhouse after the BCE meeting, It was only an hour away from Saulxures-sur-Moselotte the meetings venue. The Schlumpf brothers collection reached 500 cars with a large number of Bugatti’s in their collection. I would have included this in the BCE meeting itinerary, as it is well worth a visit.
July - Club Display and South East Region Concours. Hop Farm.
It was good that all the weather forecasts put this weekend’s outlook as hot and sunny and temperatures of 30’ degrees were right and our Saturday Night BBQ went well after the disappointment of watching England go out of the world Cup! Once again the raffle was popular. I have to thank club member Gordon Hyam who kindly donated the top prize of the Alexandra Calder BMW Art Car model, Other items in the raffle included items brought back by Selwyn from his Rally in Germany, plus a Staff T-shirt from the BMW Club Europa meeting Vosges 2006 donated by Peter Rust. Other items donated by Pauline Wells plus the usual BMW models and booby prizes. A big thank you to Pauline and Louise for selling the Raffle tickets. Concours D’Elegance

Item 7. South East Region web site report by Melvyn Pettit
The SE web site was slightly redesigned in 2006. Late in 2006 the RSS news feed link was added to site. In 2006 there were technical troubles when Wanadoo was sold to Orange, the site hosts. This lead to some times the site being offline. Hopefully now all the integration has been completed. I have also added pictures in flash slideshow format to site. The E-Newsletter has grown to over 400 on list.

The new design of the E Newsletter with direct links to the SE web site item has worked well over the year.
During 2006 I uploaded 13 videos to Google Video web site.
To date there have been 24,045 viewing of videos and people have downloaded free 542 videos.
I am planning to upload videos from 2007 events to the Google web site
The web site is sponsored by me and therefore no cost to the region.
I have also updated the information on the South East Region page on the main clubs web site.

Item 9. Any Other Business:
1. Melvyn asked if there were any questions that he should ask at the delegates meeting being held in April.
One main item that would need to be asked at delegates meeting related to the events calendar page in the club magazine.
Due to only being one or two months events in the publication, it needs to inclued a full years events lists published (on a rolling month basis). This would help club members arrange more easily their BMWCC event time.
2. Would club members who are helping out at events be asked to pay to enter the events. As the Chairman’s Chat in the March issue of the club magazine seems to imply that helpers will still have to pay to enter the event.
3. Selwyn asked why the organiser of Crews Hill, Enfield, Pub meeting which is advertised to be a South East Region did not have a contact number in the event calendar page. As he is getting telephone calls, and he knows nothing about it, and it makes us look disorganised. (Melvyn reported that he has already brought this up with Andrew at the club office, and is waiting a reply).
Item 10.:
Date of next AGM. - TBA - Proposed date is March 2008
The meeting started at 6.30pm and concluded at 7.25pm followed by a meal at the Kings Arms
