The board is re-visiting the above contracts to make sure they meet all current legislation.
Internet/Forum Protocol
As part of our ongoing discussions regarding the forum, we have invited head forum moderator Killian Bannon to attend the next National Committee meeting in July.
National Festival 20/8/06
We have now secured a better deal on ticket prices for the club for members who pay in advance. We can also confirm that there will be a rolling road shoot out taking place, the Aston Martin track facility will be again available, with more slots this year, we will be holding half hour ‘car clinics’ plus we are hoping to organise an informal B-B-Q for the Saturday evening at Gaydon, complete with full bar facilities, camping on site etc – we may make this a silly shirt event – shorts and knobbly knees optional!!!
We can only run with the B-B-Q if we have sufficient numbers booked in advance, so please spread the news far and wide – we will be asking for a £5 immediate deposit per person so that we can gauge if we will have the numbers or not. The B-B-Q will cost in the region of £10-15 per person, depending on what menu we choose. There is also the possibility of having a DJ etc…
October Donington Show
We can now confirm that the BMW Car Club now owns the rights to stage the BMW Indoor Festival at Donington Park. The show will take place on Sunday 22nd October 2006.
We want the show to return to the good old days when the Drivers Club organised it - so that means more cars on display, more traders and more autojumble – watch this space!
BCE – latest news
Watch out for a brief explanation of what is happening between the club and BCE in the ‘Club News’ section of the June magazine. Howard Walker has kindly written up a more in-depth explanation that will be available to members by simply contacting the club office and asking for a copy to be posted/e-mailed to them.
