" I joined the club in 1992. My first BMW was a Isetta in the seventies. I have lost count the number of BMW vehicles I have owned. At present my daily car, and used for towing the regions event caravan is a 1987 E28. I have a 1979 E21 with 300,000 miles on the clock, 1973 02 which I am restoring. But my baby is a 1972 02 Touring Tii, which I mainly use for my European club trips. The front of the car is pictured on " The BMW Museum Living history" CD, clubs section. I best desribe myself as the regions dogs-body, doing anything that needs to be done."
" I have been a member of the BMWCC since 1986 when I got my first BMW. Since then I have owned numerous BMW’s all of which have been 3 series, including two Dakar Yellow E36 M3’s (one of which was a evolution). More recently I have owned two E46 coupes the last being a Titan Silver 330Ci. My love of cars began at a very tender age and although I am a fan of BMW there are many other makes/brands which interest me. I have been a member of the current SE Region committee since it was formed in 1996, and I have held the position of South East Region Chairman 2002/2004. My interests and hobbies are too numerous to mention and include cycling, motorcycling, fishing, classical music and the love of good Spanish ‘Rioja’ and surrounding region wines."
" I joined the club in 1999 along with my husband Glen. Being a long suffering BMW widow, I thought if you can"t beat them join them. I have been made most welcome at BMW car club events and trips. Plus I have enjoyed helping with events. My interests are of course BMWs & dress making. I help out by making costumes for the local internationally known Dickins festival.
Glen was elected in March 2004 South East Region Chairman until his untimely passing on in January 2005. Due to the fact I have made friends within the club, I have stayed on the committee to continue the work Glen and I have put in to the club, plus as I have joined the committee, it may encourage more woman club members out to events if they know we will be their to greet them. "
Next South East Region AGM is due to be held in March 2011 - TBA

“Due to Glen Wells our regions Chairman passing away in January 2005. I was elected to be South East Region Chairman at the regions AGM on 12th March 2005. I Held the Chair until my relocation to the Isle of Wight in 2010. I stood down as Chair at the March 2010 SE AGM. I felt the region needed a hands on person to carry on the good work the SE region has built on.”
" Having raced go-karts as a child, served my apprenticeship at a local Vintage Rolls Royce and Bentley garage. Converted a Mini so I could take part in club rallying events. Restored a Lotus Europa from the ground up! I live in North London, so I am one of the members who has to travel a distance to most events held in the South East, but that's what a BMW is for! I joined the BMW Car Club in 1984 due to being a Touring car fan and BMW doing so well, so I had to have one. Joined the SE committee when the region was re-launched in March 1996. I am now on my fifth BMW, an E36 M-Tech coupe, which I brought new and still get the buzz when taking it on the many trips the region has organised. Other interest beside motorsport and cars are photography, model engineering, IT and Travelling in my new toy “Large Motorhome”. E-mail Melvyn
